It has been months since you were captured. You have been forced to live in the castle and serve the Sovereign. It has been grueling and painful. Every command has been a hardship and every experience has been torment. The other captives share in your fate. Through seldom passing glances and scrawled notes left in inconspicuous places you have been able to communicate to one another, developing a sort of rapport with each other.
You thought for certain you would die quickly after your capture, but much to your surprise you have been kept on for a seeming indefinite purpose. The most terrifying part of serving the Sovereign is that you haven’t seen him yet. All you have heard is whispers and hushed voices behind doors, trying at all costs to hear the voice of your tormentor.
The soldiers that guard the sprawling castle carry out the Sovereign’s commands without hesitation. It seems that they have been building something…sinister. You have seen the despair in some of the soldier’s eyes, as if they know it is pointless to oppose his demented will.
After much hidden communication, you and the other captives have decided it best to assassinate the Sovereign. After procuring any weapons and armors you could in secret, the night has come for the coup to happen. Under cover of darkness you meet with your accomplices in the outer courtyard…
