Overview:
We are seeking a creative and technically skilled Level/World Designer with a passion for building immersive, stylized environments. The ideal candidate has a strong portfolio in indie or open-world games and is experienced in optimizing game worlds for console hardware. This position involves hands-on work with terrain, lighting, and level-building tools in Unity or Unreal Engine.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and build engaging game worlds and levels for stylized or open-world titles
- Utilize Unity or Unreal Engine to sculpt terrain, place assets, and implement lighting
- Optimize levels for performance across multiple platforms, with a focus on console hardware
- Work closely with artists, programmers, and designers to ensure cohesive world-building and gameplay flow
- Iterate on levels based on internal testing and player feedback
- Maintain a strong sense of narrative integration and spatial storytelling in all designs
Requirements:
- Portfolio showcasing work on indie or stylized open-world games
- Proven experience optimizing content for console performance constraints
- Strong proficiency in Unity or Unreal terrain, lighting, and world-building tools
- Deep understanding of level design theory, gameplay pacing, and player navigation
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
Salary Range:
€40,000 – €60,000 annually (based on experience & location)
